More Skylanders!
A lot of first-time Skylanders players usually have one of two questions:
1) Why should I buy more?
2) What do I need to get 100% in the game?
Well, on this page I will answer those two questions and more.
To begin, select the game in question:
Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure (2011)
Skylanders Giants (2012)
Skylanders SWAP Force (2013)
Skylanders Trap Team (2014)
Then, click on the tab that aligns with your goal for the game to discover just what you’ll need to acquire to accomplish that goal.

Finish the Game (Defeat Final Boss)
In order to finish the game, defeat the final boss, and watch the credits roll, you will need:
- 1 Skylander
Yes. You can complete the game with one single Skylander. However, this does mean that you’ll need to complete each level without dying, but some people like a challenge.

100% Game File
In order to get 100% on your game file you will need:
- 8 Skylanders (1 from each Element)
- 4 Adventure Pack Levels
If you plan on buying the four Adventure Packs new (which could be expensive since most of them are no longer in stores), this will also give you four Skylanders of different Elements. So then you would only need to pick up 4 more Skylanders.

Completionist
In order to complete all the Accolades in the game (even those past a 100% game file), you will need:
- 32 Skylanders
- 4 Adventure Pack Levels
No only is there an Accolade for having 32 Skylanders, but you will need them to unlock the Heroic Challenges.

Super Collector
If you want to collect every figure associated with the game (even those that don’t show up uniquely in the game), you will need:
- 32 Skylanders
- 4 Adventure Packs
- 1 Volcanic Vault
- 9 In-Game Variant Skylanders
- 21 Chase Variant Skylanders
If you choose to go down this path, not only will it take you a long time, but it will also cost you a lot of money. Some figures are extremely rare. For a closer look at the rare figures check out How Rare is My Skylander – Part 1.

100% Game File
In order to get 100% on your game file you will need:
- 8 Skylanders (1 from each Element)
- 1 Giant Skylander
If you already have one Skylander from each Element that you used in Spyro’s Adventure, the same eight can be used here as well. Then you will just need to add one Giant Skylander to your collection.
If you’re starting fresh with Giants though keep in mind that your Giant Skylander can count as one of your eight. What I’m trying to say is that you only need a total of 8 Skylanders to get 100% in Skylanders Giants as long as you have a minimum of one Giant. Some people chose to play this game with 8 Giants.

Completionist
In order to complete all the Accolades in the game (even those past a 100% game file), you will need:
- 8 Giant Skylanders
- 8 New Core Skylanders
- 24 Reposed Skylanders
The Accolades only require 40 Orange Base Skylanders so I have not included the LightCore figures in this list. However, since the number is only 40 there’s a little room to mix and match.

Skylanders SWAP Force

Finish the Game (Defeat Final Boss)

100% Game File
In order to get 100% on your game file you will need:
- 8 SWAP Force Skylanders (1 from each Element and Movement Type)
- 2 Adventure Pack Levels
There are two possible combinations of SWAP Force Skylanders that will give you one of each Element as well as one of each Movement Type. If you are looking for the most economical way to 100% SWAP Force, this is it.
Option 1:
- Wash Buckler (Water, Climb)
- Blast Zone (Fire, Rocket)
- Free Ranger (Air, Spin)
- Hoot Loop (Magic, Teleport)
- Rubble Rouser (Earth, Dig)
- Stink Bomb (Life, Stealth)
- Rattle Shake (Undead, Bounce)
- Magna Charge (Tech, Speed)
Option 1 is what many folks opted for as it includes the swappers from the Starter Pack and was completely available after Wave 3. However, nowadays it may be easier to get your hands on Option 2 as some of them are still in stores.
Option 2:
- Freeze Blade (Water, Speed)
- Fire Kraken (Fire, Bounce)
- Boom Jet (Air, Rocket)
- Trap Shadow (Magic, Stealth)
- Doom Stone (Earth, Spin)
- Grilla Drilla (Life, Dig)
- Night Shift (Undead, Teleport)
- Spy Rise (Tech, Climb)
NOTE: While it is possible to open the dual-element gates with a second controller and two Core Skylanders, you will still need 8 SWAP Force Skylanders for their Movement Types so you can access the SWAP Zones. The swappable Skylanders also ensure that you can complete the game to 100% with just one player.

Completionist
In order to complete all the Accolades in the game (even those past a 100% game file), you will need:
- 16 SWAP Force Skylanders
- 16 New Core Skylanders
- 16 Reposed Skylanders
- 8 LightCore Skylanders
- 2 Adventure Packs
The above list is to be expected by now, but Vicarious Visions decided to take it once step further and they included a few Accolades involving figures from the previous games. So you will also need:
- 32 Green Base Skylanders
- 8 Giant Skylanders
- 30 Orange Base Skylanders
- 1 Sidekick
At first I thought this list seemed a bit extreme, but after thinking about it for a little while I realized that the people who really care about completing all the Accolades have probably been doing so since the first game. So most of these players will have large collections that include these Skylanders and they just want to reward those folks a little more.
